Michelle Wildgen offers freelance editorial services, from one-time manuscript evaluations to ongoing development and editing of short and book-length manuscripts, with a particular interest in literary fiction, food writing, and narrative nonfiction. She has fifteen years of experience at the award-winning literary magazine Tin House, where she has worked with writers like Francine Prose, Andrea Barrett, Amy Bloom, Karen Russell, and Adam Johnson.

 

Michelle has also mentored students with book manuscripts at the Tin House Writer’s workshop for over a decade, and recently has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Iowa Summer Writing Festival. Contact Michelle for more information.

 

If you’re a writer in the Madison area, Michelle has partnered with award-winning novelist Susanna Daniel  (Stiltsville, Sea Creatures) to create the Madison Writers’ Studio. The studio provides high-level creative writing instruction in a relaxed, supportive environment, offering a range of classes in different lengths and genres, from creative nonfiction to short story to novel and memoir.
